EXKOP quench valve
Firstly, the tried and trusted EXKOP QV II is now also available for dust class 2 and a reduced explosion pressure (pred) of up to 2 bar. In addition, the launch of the EXKOP QV III, the new big brother of the QV II, means it is now possible to protect lines with diameters of between 300 and 600 mm. With an innovative, space-saving design, it can even be installed in confined areas where space is at a premium. Direct integration of the pressure storage tank keeps the dimensions to the minimum.

EGV HYP - The perfect explosion vent for hygienic applications
The smooth surfaces, in combination with the patented, full surface and tapered sealing concept, enable these special explosion vent to be implemented in previously critical plants, e.g. spray-dryers with/without wet cleaning, fluidized bed dryers, filters and mixers. EGV HYP successfully passed the cleanability tests conducted by the commission of the EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group) and confirmed its suitability for CiP cleaning. The EGV HYP can be adapted to the radius of the container avoiding unwanted dead spaces and making it ideal for use with cylindrical tanks. If the product is to be used in outdoor areas, a closed cell silicon cushion insulation is available to prevent the build up of deposits that may occur when the temperature drops below the dew point. Insulation also minimises temperature and energy losses. These features of the hygienic design of the EGV HYP improve product quality and also protect processes against contamination and production standstills.

Q-Rohr Flameless Venting - The Original
Stay Qool – REMBE Q-Rohr Innovation is a tradition at REMBE. In the area of explosion safety, the invention of flameless venting solutions – the Q-Rohr and Q-Box – is probably the most important in the history of the company. We have continuously developed and improved these products since the 1980s and they are now in use worldwide. The Q-Rohr and Q-Box can be found in a whole range of sectors from the food processing industry to chemicals and pharmaceuticals. The advantages of flameless venting are immediately obvious: the entire production process remains inside the building and there is no need for expensive, bulky venting ducts that require modifications to be made to existing structures. The integrated explosion vent is fitted with a signalling unit that immediately reports any incidents to the process control system. The special stainless steel mesh filter inlet ensures that the pressure rise and increased noise level associated with free vented explosions are massively reduced to negligible levels in the production room. Dust and flames are retained by the mesh filter inlet. The Q-Rohr has a round design. Consequently, it is vacuum resistant and ideal for the protection of pneumatic conveying systems as well as many other applications. The Q-Rohr and Q-Box also compare favourably with active fire extinguishing systems. They generate no running costs, false triggering damages only the bursting disc and the product remains unaffected. No regular maintenance is required, an annual visual inspection is more than adequate. The products are certified by ATEX and also comply with many other currently relevant standards. New: The Q-Rohr can now also be used with metal dusts. Due to their extreme properties in explosive situations (e.g. temperatures can be twice as high as those with most other dusts), metal dusts create special challenges for protection systems. The Q-Rohr is the first system to be certified in accordance with DIN EN 16009.
Q-Rohr-3
The Q-Rohr-3 system is the only indoor explosion device that meets the NFPA codes and is approved in accordance with EU regulations (ATEX). It consists of an integrated REMBE bursting disc which vents the explosion wave in a controlled manner within the Q-Rohr-3 assembly. Flame gases with temperatures higher than 500° C (2,732° F) are cooled down to less than 90° C (195° F) via energy transfer within the specially developed stainless steel mesh filter inlet. This reduces the expanding gas volume as it extinguishes the flame. Dust retention is guaranteed by the mesh filter ensuring that no burnt or unburnt dust particles pass through the Q-Rohr-3 assembly. Additionally, the pressure rise and increased noise level associated with free vented explosions are massively reduced to negligible levels. After an explosion event the Q-Rohr-3 is reusable immediately after cleaning and replacement of the REMBE bursting disc assembly
KUB® - our most robust rupture disc
REMBE® has developed a unique two-layered reverse acting rupture disc. KUB® is not only extremely easy to install – it is also simple to remove and reinstall. The KUB® design has a unique construction which makes it the most robust rupture disc on the market. KUB® is the ideal solution for a wide range of challenging industrial processes with low to high operating pressures or vacuum, e.g. in liquid, gas or vapour applications as well as in two-phase flow applications.

Q-Flap RX™
Isolation is a decisive component of an Explosion Safety concept. No matter how much operators invest into (flameless) relief - if an isolation is missing, an explosion can spread within the system, and continue to propagate from facility section to facility section. In the worst case, the blast wave will overtake the flames, and the explosion will turn into a detonation. If a sensible isolation is part of the system protection strategy, then there's no reason to worry about such horror scenarios any longer. The Q-Flap RX™ explosion isolation flap valve is a joint development between REMBE® and the Swiss company RICO. "A combination of German engineering and Swiss precision", that's how Dr.-Ing. Johannes Lottermann, Director for Explosion Safety at REMBE® describes the new product. The strict requirements of EN 16447 for the maximum safety and reliability are particularly achieved by the very high strength and extremely flexible installation distances - and all of this thanks to the patented swivel carriage principle. The Q-Flap RX™ is available for all common nominal pipe sizes up to DN 1250.

Q-Ball® E
In addition to the requirement that neither flames nor pressure escape from the protective system, flameless venting devices should also be evaluated in terms of their relief effectiveness and weight. Because: Low efficiencies mean that more relief openings and associated protective systems are required. A too heavy weight requires conversions to the container in order to ensure its stability. The Q-Ball® E has been specifically designed for the protection of mechanical conveyors, which usually have long and sleek geometries. Based on the contour-parallel venting (CPV) invented by REMBE®, the innovative design has resulted in a low weight of the Q-Ball® E while also have a higher effectivity. While comparable products from other suppliers weigh between 100-200 kg, the Q-Ball® E is an absolute lightweight with just 25-50 kg. This particularly facilitates the handling during assembly, as well as the requirements for the installation on the systems.
GRX® Graphite Rupture Disc
This rupture disc protects processes with corrosive media, low pressure and temperatures of between -180 °C and 1,500 °C. The GRX® is available with a PyC coating, developed specifically for the GRX® (process temperatures up to 500 °C). With the PyC coating, the rupture disc holds significantly longer at very high temperatures, while remaining permanently leak-tight.

ELEVENT® - The breather valve
The ELEVENT® Breather Valve protects industrial systems and tanks with low design pressure against excessive pressures and vacuum. The valve prevents the leakage of production gases, polluting material or explosive vapors. At the same time, it protects the system against unwanted air intake. The breather valve can be installed at any system with different connection variants, e.g. ANSI flanges, “Tri-Clamp®”, pipe connectors and pipe couplings according to DIN 11851, as well as CF and KF flanges. ELEVENT® is used in the oil and gas industry, food processing, the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors and power plant technology.
IKB® - reverse acting rupture disc
The patented IKB® is the result of the continuous leadership in rupture disc excellence. This trendsetting design combines both, state-of-the-art laser treatment technology and REMBE®’s unique imperfection method (IPV) to influence the material structure of the device in positive manner. Contrary to traditional scored rupture discs, which open always in petals reducing the free net flow area, the unique IKB® offers full bore opening and maximized discharge area. The risk of fragmenting petals is perfectly eliminated. Its enhanced performance values over ordinary and old-fashioned scored discs makes the IKB® a smash hit for process applications which are price-sensitive on the one but quality demanding on the other hand. No other single layer rupture disc parallels the IKB® when it comes to cost of ownership and safety level.
ODV - forward acting rupture disc
ODV is primarily used for applications with low to medium pressures, e.g. for gases, liquids and applications with two-phase flows. The disc has a standard operating ratio of max. 80 %*. For burst pressures of less than 1 barg, ODV can be installed directly between flanges or angular rings. ODV has a three-layer design: The burst element is located on the side facing away from the process to protect it against corrosive media. The breaking points are cut into the burst element using lasers and define the burst pressure with outstanding precision. The sealing element prevents gases from escaping in normal operation. The vacuum support, as the name suggests, enables ODV to be used in processes with a vacuum.

Q-Bic™
Plant components like silos, mills, filters, collectors, mixers or dryers, in which bulks are processed, conveyed or stored are hazardous areas where fine dust can be found in quantities. Explosion solutions are required when ignition sources cannot be reliably prevented. With use of the Q-Bic™ safety suppression system, the starting explosion is instantly detected by the redundant related detectors and the prompt blowing of dry powder within the endangered area extinguishes the flame. The explosion is extinguished at the point of ignition and cannot be discharged to the outside atmosphere. Q-Bic™ is especially suitable for applications with toxicants, which must not be released in case of explosion.

NIMU Signalling Unit
NIMU is a reusable, non-invasive detection system. After an overpressure event, and the associated opening of the rupture disc, the outlet part of the rupture disc holder must be removed, the rupture disc replaced, and afterwards the system can be put back into operation. The days when the signalling cables also had to be routed again to the respective switching box are finally over.

SFD
The SFD (Sublimated Forward Acting Rupture Disc) is a versatile rupture disc solution suitable for use with a wide range of process conditions. Manufactured using Contour Precision Lasering, this forward acting rupture disc eliminates common industry concerns associated with mechanically scored discs such as premature failure, corrosion on the score-line and pin-holing. Unexpected problems can cause costly downtime, REMBE®’s CPL™ Technology maximises the lifetime of the installed disc and ensures high-quality, accurate burst control even in the harshest of environments.

Rupture Disc and Safety Valve
Rupture discs and safety valves can be combined in two different configurations: The rupture disc can be installed below the safety valve or the two pressure relief systems installed prallel. If the systems are installed next to each other, the response pressure of the rupture disc is higher than that of the safety valve. If the rise in pressure is so large and rapid that the safety valve cannot respond sufficiently quickly or if it fails to open, the rupture disc serves as a reliable backup system to relieve the pressure. If the rupture disc is installed below the safety valve it can perform a number of roles.
