The Hyperspec® Scanstation from Headwall is a complete hyperspectral measurement solution for industrial machine vision applications. Using two cameras, the VIS range (400–1000 nm) and the NIR range (900–1700 nm) are analyzed simultaneously, providing both visual and spectral information in a single process step. This enables detailed analysis of raw materials, intermediates and finished products, while revealing deviations and contaminations that conventional vision technologies cannot detect.
Performance in practice:
– Complete solution including cameras, illumination, sample stage and perClass Mira® software
– Real-time spatial and spectral insight into product streams
– Simultaneous acquisition of VIS/NIR/SNIR data for maximum detection capability
– Compact and robust design with IP-rated housing, built for demanding industrial environments
– User-friendly software for data visualization, classification and regression without the need for chemometrics or programming knowledge
– Easy integration with industrial control systems (GigE, Modbus, MQTT)
– Supports both developer and operator modes, ready for immediate production use
Applications:
The Scanstation is widely used in sectors such as food, feed, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and recycling. Examples include the detection of foreign objects in nuts and grains, contamination in meat and poultry, and adulteration in herbs and spices. It is also applied for process analyses within PAT concepts, such as determining sugar content, pH, fat or moisture levels.
